If you have decided to have a civil ceremony then you need to give some thought to the music that you are going to have played. The bride needs a song to walk down the aisle to, a couple of song choices for the signing of the register and then a song for the recessional.
The great thing about a civil ceremony is that anything goes when to comes to music. I always advise couples to think about songs that mean something to them or artists that they like. Always think about the lyrics if someone is going to sing it for you or if you are having a CD played.
Also think about tempo, especially with the bride’s entrance, make the most of it and don’t choose something too fast. During the signing of the registers your guests are sat watching and waiting so you are really entertaining them at this point and there is often time to have two songs performed or played so make sure you pick a couple and choose the order you’d like them.
Finally the recessional, the song you will leave the ceremony to as husband and wife. Its always nice if this can be a little more lively and this is the time when the celebrations really begin. I have listed some of my favourite songs for each part of the ceremony.
